Jacksonville Trails

The weather was just perfect today for Clista and me to hike and run the Jacksonville trails. Before that I did a couple of 1/2 mile warmup/cooldown walks with Rob and Wendy. The remainder of the day?.......chores and some much needed relaxation.

Heavy Bag, Pullups and Chinups

I started my day with 30 mins on the heavy bag and soon followed that with another 30 mins of weighted and bodyweight pullups and chinups.....the rest of the day was just a blur of VRAs.

LEGS!!

It sure turned into a busy day, but in addition to 3/4 mile warmup and cooldown walks with a client, I made time for a leg workout of front squats, SLDLs, DB stationary lunges and calf raises.

The Beast, 5k, Bench Press and Heavy Bag

After a much needed rest yesterday, I hit it hard today. I started by walking the Beast twice with a client, followed by a 5k run, about 45 mins of bench pressing and ending with 30 mins on the heavy bag.

LTR, Chinups and Ring Pushups

I got my morning off to a good start by walking the Beast a couple of times with my first client, then I did a brisk hike/run on Lower Table Rock with the next client. I followed that with about 30 mins of chinups and ring pushups.

A Great Hike and Run

Today Clista and I had a great hike and run in and above Lithia Park. The weather couldn't have been nicer for it!!

And sadly, Jack LaLanne the founder of the modern fitness movement is dead at 96 yrs old.

A Lot of Chores and a Little Heavy Bag

After a morning full of training, I spent the afternoon and evening trying to catch up on work and household chores......but I still made time for 30 mins on the heavy bag.

LTR Run and Heavy Bag

I took yesterday off from exercise, but tried to make up for it today with a great run on Lower Table Rock and 30 mins on the heavy bag. The trail going up LTR was in pretty good shape, but it was still rather muddy on the plateau......it was a fantastic run and mostly in the sun.

LTR, KBs and MBs

After taking care of some business earlier in the morning, I ran Lower Table Rock....the trail wasn't a creek today, but there was plenty of water and mud on the plateau. Afterward I had a great kettlebell and medicine ball workout in addition to the two 1/2 mile warmup/cooldown walks with clients.

A Good Run

It was a busy day, but I still made time for a good 2 mile run with Clista in addition to lots of VRAs and warmup/cooldown walks with a client.

What Does 300 Calories Really Look Like?
Some of their choices for "healthy" foods are highly processed, too low in protein and certainly not what I would choose or recommend, but they make a valid point about how much more you can eat when you start making healthier choices and eat at home compared to eating out.

Pullups, Heavy Bag and X-Trainer

Today I played the part of a wuss and didn't go out in the driving rain for a hike. Instead, I did a workout following the same format as yesterday......30 mins of weighted pullups, 30 mins on the heavy bag and 30 mins on the x-trainer.

Bench Press, Heavy Bag and X-Trainer

After a pretty low activity day yesterday, I found the time and energy today to do a 30 min bench press workout, 30 mins on the heavy bag and 30 mins on the x-trainer.

Table Rocks and Tabatas

I had a great hike up both Table Rocks today. This time I took the Table Rock Creek routes. In drier weather they're trails, but today there was a pretty steady stream of water flowing down and it made for a squishy, sloshy, soaking wet hike.....in other words, one helluva fantastic hike!! Afterwards, I did a quick workout of Tabata pullups, pushups, SB crunches and squats.

Legs

In addition to a brisk 1 mile walk with a client this afternoon, I also made time for a quick workout of front squats, stationary DB lunges and calf raises.
I'm giving myself one more week of lighter and lower intensity workouts to help recover from an intense end to 2010, but I'll pick up the pace soon.

Upper Table Rock and Heavy Bag

Upper Table Rock beckoned today.....it was a bit frosty on the way up, but by the time I came down the trail was a sticky muddy mess.....in other words, a great hike! Afterward I spent 30 mins on the heavy bag.

Heavy Bag

Seemed like a good day to keep things light, so all I made time for was 30 mins on the heavy bag.

Jacksonville Trails

Clista and I spent about 90 mins hiking the Jacksonville Woodlands trails today. Both of our bodies needed a little recovery, so we just had a nice, fairly easy hike instead of running. The trail alternated between being ice and slippery mud, but that just made it more interesting and fun.

1111

To bring in the New Year, since the date is 1/1/11, it seemed like 1,111 pushups was the thing to do. It took about an hour with time to do some bookkeeping, laundry and play on the computer a bit while taking short rests.
