The unhappy truth about soda (and all of the other sweetened garbage in most people's diets).
It wasn't so bad when soft drinks were the occasional treat. But now sugary drinks are the number one source of calories in the American diet. With one third of America overweight and another third obese, it's a wonder anyone is still swallowing what the soda companies are selling.

TOPFIT Daily Activities --- Savannah Loop 5k Run
Just as it was really warming up this morning I headed out to the Lower Table Rock Savannah Loop for a 5k run (actually a tiny bit over 5k).  After all of the walking lunges and weighted stationary lunges/split squats that I did yesterday I wasn't even sure I would be able to run the whole thing, much less break the 30 min mark.  But, I put it to the test and finished in 27:36.

I got the day off to an early and intense start with 1/8 mile of walking lunges in addition to a couple of brisk 1/2 mile walks with a client.  Later in the afternoon I did some DB split squats (stationary lunges) followed by a 30 min heavy bag workout.

TOPFIT Daily Activities --- Upper Table Rock Run and a Back/Bi Workout
This morning I got out for a fun Upper Table Rock run....it was still a bit chilly after a near freezing night, but the sun was warming things up by the time I was done.
In the afternoon I did a good workout of weighted chinups, DB rows, DB curls and hanging scapular retraction/depression.

In addition to a couple of brisk 1/2 mile walks with a client this morning and some yard work this afternoon, I had a great run on Lower Table Rock and did a workout of BB bench presses, DB flye/press supersets and ring dips.

2 heavy bag workouts
1 kettlebell workout
1 calisthenics workout
and even 2 active recovery/rest days
